About the host

John Pemberton, host of The Glucose Never Lies Podcast

John Pemberton is a diabetes educator, researcher, and dad — living with type 1 since 2008. He started The Glucose Never Lies when his son tested positive for T1D antibodies, wanting to create the resource he wished he had had on day one: clear, practical, evidence-led guidance.

Finding purpose through challenge — John Pemberton's story behind The Glucose Never Lies

On the podcast, John sits down with world-class clinicians, researchers, and people with lived experience to translate the latest science into useful understanding. Topics range from how to use CGM and AID well, to nutrition, exercise, sleep, and still living a full and fun life — parties, sport, adventures and all.

Guided by mentors — the expert advisory behind The Glucose Never Lies

Long-form conversation captures nuance that written guides can miss. The GNL Podcast brings together lived experience, professional practice, and cutting-edge research in the same spirit as shows like Peter Attia’s The Drive — focused entirely on type 1 diabetes.

This project is built independently. Here is what one listener said about the podcast’s impact:

“Thank you so much for your podcasts on the various pumps. This has helped us find the right one for my son and, more importantly, gave us the knowledge we needed to have an informed conversation with our amazing care team and explain the features that were right for us.”
Karine, mum of a wonderful son who lives with T1D.

  1. Really looking forward to this. I’m T1D for nearly 30 years, and the lack of clearanalytical approaches (like yours) has been very frustrating for me!
Can’t wait to hear what you have to say 😁

  2. amazing information database, it has helped my family to get some relief that there is some information that is comprehendible and confirms so many theories and answers so many questions I still had in handling the treatment and glucose levels of my daughter of four that was diagnosed late october 2024. If it was possible I would donate for the continued growth in this database. Looking forward to the podcast release!

    1. Hi Dan,

      I really appreciate that!

It will continue to grow, no donation needed. Give that to a local diabetes charity!

      Podcast coming soon!
